Sonshine Haven – Founder and Chief Executive Officer. 1991 – Present
Founded in 1991, this organization offers children of all ethnic, socio-economic & religious backgrounds on-campus after school Bible classes and several off-campus outreach programs. Classes are open to all students with no fee fro any of our programs. Stories taught from the Bible emphasize moral and ethical values, how to treat people with respect, and how to love and support one another. Sonshine Haven currently operates in 40+ schools with commitment of 150+ ethnically diverse volunteers. We currently serve over 2,300 children in the community during the school year. Our on-campus program started at one school and continues to expand throughout the east &south county each year. Club kids are also supported with our off-campus outreach programs to teach then that they can have a successful and joy-filled life. Our other programs currently include Life Skills and Cinderella/Cinderfella Day, we also provide holiday meals to our club families for Thanksgiving and at Christmas many of our club kids recieve gifts of clothing & toys. Sonshine Haven is open Monday-Friday, 10am-4pm. Sonshine Haven has 4 part-time employees. We have numerous volunteers that support the administrative functions. Our diverse Board of Directors meets quarterly to discuss fund raising and program needs. The program structure, staff management and business management are my responsibility along with the Board of Directors. Sonshine Haven is a non-denominational, non-profit organization.
Haircut Store – Co-Founder 1974 – Present
Founded in 1974 with husband Mike Rothman, our 15 salons are located in the Southern California region. Our stores offer cutting edge styling and hair coloring techniques to the general public. Quality, courtesy, integrity, service and friendliness. The Haircut Store is guided by these principles in every relationship – customer, employees and the community. We are very proud of our reputation in the community for consistent, quality performance and for making our salons an asset to the beauty of the neighborhoods we serve. The Haircut Store believes that each customer deserves an exceptional haircut at a fair price.
